CHILDREN’S FICTION AND NONFICTION

FWP is always on the lookout for captivating combinations of text and illustration. We select stories that communicate with humor and heart and inspire young readers to explore the beauty, mystery, and magic of nature, and encourage them to believe they can have a positive impact on other people and the planet.

YOUNG ADULT / ADULT NONFICTION

We are also interested in high-quality books for a general audience to help foster a more sustainable and compassionate world.

Please note: for the remainder of 2023, we will be reviewing submissions on a limited basis.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS

• In keeping with the FWP mission to support projects that contribute to positive change towards a healthier planet, we are only accepting submissions that are reflective of our core values relating to nature, wildlife, conservation, the environment, and green living.
• Priority for review will be given to solicited submissions and author/illustrators. 
• We only accept electronic submissions.
• Maximum word count for picture books: 1,000.
• Illustrators and artists: if you are interested in collaborating with FWP, please submit samples of your work below.

HERE’S WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR SUBMISSION

• Query letter with a general description of the book, the subjects covered, the intended audience, and expected number of words.
• Author publication credits and sales history (life to date and first 12 months), if applicable.
• Author’s relevant biographical information, including social media links, and website.
• For picture books: full manuscript and 5-8 illustration samples.
• Books for middle readers: synopsis, and three (3) sample chapters.
• For adult nonfiction books: author CV or resume outlining relevant expertise, table of contents with a brief synopsis for each chapter, sample illustrations/images if applicable, expected time to complete the manuscript, information about any published or upcoming competing/comparable titles.
